so, i've had a timing belt snap and valves not only bent but they broke and the broken ends drove down into the pistons causing some real carnage. BUT... no pistons are broken, no cylinders scratched, no cracks or damages to the sides of the pistons. do some rather deep scores in the tops of the pistons ruin them? i can look at it and know that the car will run. it just will, there is no deathly damage. but, is this engine worth putting back together? will it LAST? i could forsee some pretty bad hot spots forming, but the car's no beauty anyway. should i bother?
